Update 0.12 - Day & Night


V0.12 adds time, day & night and preview of background music.

The moon you have landed on is tidal locked to its planet. It's rotating in geostationary polar orbit.


 Day & night:

  • Rotation period is counted as 20 "hours", each hours is 100 "minutes" long
  • Dawn is at 7hrs, dusk at 13hrs
  • In earth time, one day is 33 min 20 secs long
  • Drone and camp lights automatically turn on/off in night/day
  • In upcoming builds, day & night will have impact on several game mechanics (dust storms in days, low temperature in nights)



Background music:

  • Special song for shuttle interiors (can be turned off)
  • Day & night & caves songs
  • Next builds will also include combat music
  • New game triggers to manage music
  • Game settings for sound & music volume and to toggle shuttle music

Numerous tweaks and fixes:

  • New enemies and resources in caves
  • In-game menu shows sound settings
  • HUD reworked again to accommodate new elements
  • Fixed several graphical artifacts
  • Fixed enemy lights
  • Fixed loot generator
  • Several areas fine tuned
  • More in-game messages and tutorials

What's next?

in V13, you will be able to collect DNA samples from certain enemy types and use these ancient devices to spawn powerful creatures. I will also refresh prospecting and mining by adding more blueprints and redoing resources sprites to show the available capacity.
